Mrs. Adine B. Spitler, 85, of Winchester, VA died Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Blue Ridge Hospice Residential Center with her son by her side.
Mrs. Spitler was born in 1929, in Pleasant Dale, WV, the daughter of the late Griffith and Alberta S. Bowman. She retired after 37 years working for Shenandoah Apple Co-op and National Fruit, as well as being a homemaker for her own family.
Her husband, Charles C. Spitler, whom she married on November 26, 1947 in Winchester, VA, preceded her in death in 1993.
Surviving is a son, Carson “Ed” Spitler; grandchildren, Daniel Spitler (Tracy), Brandi Spitler, Benjamin Spitler (Donna), Jeremy Spitler, Marla Mason, Chad Spitler; 8 great grandchildren; sister, Margie Longbon and brothers, Gary Bowman and Ronald Bowman.
Mrs. Spitler was preceded in death by a son, Charles “Chuck” B. Spitler, 9 loving sisters, and 3 loving brothers.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 1, 2015, from 6-8 p.m. at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday with Rev. Richard Longbon and Daniel Spitler officiating at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Frederick County, VA.
