Abbie Franklin Woodard, Jr., 64, of Winchester, VA passed away Monday, May 10, 2021 at Winchester Medical Center.

Abbie was born in 1956 to the late Abbie, Sr. and Daisy Woodard in Front Royal, VA. He retired from the Riverton Corp. as a truck loader. Abbie was a member of the Front Royal Moose Lodge who enjoyed gardening, especially his tomatoes. He enjoyed flea marketing, mowing grass as a side job and for pleasure and cheered on whomever was headed to the Super Bowl. Abbie loved his dogs and pets and over the years, as well as buying and selling cars. He was known to all as a very giving man (except for his tomatoes!).

Abbie married Ethel Mae Thomas on April 2, 1980 in Front Royal, VA, she preceded him in death in 2007.

Surviving is Abbie’s step-daughter, Carol Guyer Witt (Mike) of Winchester, VA; sisters, Hilda Woodard of Spring Mills, WV and Faye Hose of Moorefield, WV; brothers, Charles Woodard (Joyce) of Middleway, WV, Roger Woodard (Wanda) of Kearneysville, WV and Harry Woodard (Lori) of Martinsburg, WV, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Along with his wife and parents, Abbie is preceded in death by brother-in-law, Junior Hose.

A visitation will be held, Thursday, May 14, 2021 from 6PM to 8PM with a funeral service, the following day, Friday, May 15, 2021 at 1PM, all being held at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.

Entombment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park. Officiating will be Pastor Gary Palmer.
